To be sure, the extreme contradiction inherent in situations dominated by economy- in this case a still dismal stretch of the DTES extending, as False Creek once did with Pender Lake, along Abbott Street where the famed open drug market is still thriving but so, as it seems, are a colony of sparrows fed daily by a local wanderer- is, at the very least, a strong psychogeographic point of interest.
